Many of their songs come from the last 50 years by such artists as Bob Dylan, Buffy Sainte- Marie, Gordon Lightfoot, John Sebastian, Chuck Berry, Lennon and McCartney, The Eagles, and Hank Williams. Their interests are broad, however, andthey also enjoy playing an old blues tune or a show tune from the 30’s. Great music from any era and genre inspires members of JAVA. Seeing live performances by Pete Seeger, Arlo Guthrie, Paul McCartney, Eric Clapton, Alison Krauss and a host of other, let them learn how to connect with audiences. “We may never win a Grammy, but we can make the best music we are able to, making it enjoyable to us and to our audience.” Jeff, Alex, and Vern each take their turn at lead vocals, and many of their songs feature two, three, and four part harmonies. Their music is melodic, and invites you to sing along. JAVA has recorded one CD, Freshly Brewed, and is working on a second.
